FruitFly culture temp, light?

guppygal Nov 19, 2003 08:33 AM

I've seen a lot of posts concerning the best cultures and the best containers, but I haven't seen anything yet that addresses the ideal temp and light for fruitfly productivity.

Can someone help me with that, pls.?

thanks!

At the lecture on raising live food that I attended at Frogfest I beleve that they said little to no light is needed, and a temp of around 75 degree is good.

I don't cut the tops off. It works out pretty good - just shake a few in a jar and dust 'em - nothin' to it! There's always a better flytrap, though, and room for improvement. BTW, I use pieces of pantyhose and rubberbands when I run out of foam.
