Looking to get an Adult Pair of Cresties - Need Advice

lovelyleopards Nov 19, 2003 02:22 PM

Hi Guys,

My first time posting here on this forum. I usually hang out on the regular gecko and leopard gecko forums. So now I'm intending to buy an adult pair of cresties at the Atlanta show this weekend. I've looked up care sheets and I have husbandry requirements down. I just want one pair for right now, I'm not looking to get into cresteds big time. So here's my question - what color/morph/pattern should I go for that is in a resonable price range (say $200-$250 for a pair) that I will not have to struggle to sell? I'm not looking to make tons of money off this, but I would like to be able to get my money back for the pair. It seems that buckskins don't sell very well, and I can't afford a high colored pair of reds or oranges. Suggestions and advice are greatly appreciated. Thanks, and I look forward to posting pics of my new babies next week!

Flame/Fire patterned ones sell the best (considering reds are out of the question), but you'll be hard pressed to find anything but tan/brown colored normal looking Cresteds for $250/pair.

Your best bet is to spend the $250 on four nice babies and raise them up. If you don't want to wait nine months for them to grow up, you'll have to settle on less attractive specimens.
