Wanting to sleep too early?

Solaris16 Nov 19, 2003 03:31 PM

Hi Everyone,

Myka has been with me for about a year and a half now, and is doing great!

However, for the last couple weeks, she has been wanting to go to sleep earlier than she usually does. Her bedtime is at 7:00PM each night, but it gets dark outside at around 5:00PM. She sees this outside, and will shut her eyes. She's always in a fairly well lit room until her lights go off at night. Should I be concerned? Does this classify as "lethargy" even though she completes all of her normal activities each day? Maybe it's just her THINKING it's bedtime because it's dark outside?

I'm not sure....so any opinions would be great.

Wendy

Some ig´s do that & it´s nothing to be worried about..

If she wants to sleep, then let her.. Set the lights after the naturally sunrise & everything should go back to normal..

What time does she get up in the morning? Iguanas do sleep more in the winter.

THis is why she is so sleepy. My lights come on a little before six, when I leave for work and they are sleepy by five in the winter. They know it is winter. Yesterday, we had a major power failure (common since the hurricane) and they all went to sleep without their baths.

My iguana does that too once in awhile. I wouldn't worry about it.
