Is it true that aquariums dont hold heat that well?? I have a 48x18x24 tall aquarium and its for my ackie monitors and i was wondering what i could do to make it hold heat?? Should i put some wood in there??

I personally never had a problem with heating glass tanks. However, I never did leave my house temperature drop below 65F so having the tank temperature dropping at night to that level wasn't a problem for my bearded dragon. If Ackies need a warmer nighttime temperature, you will need to either keep the room the tank is in at that minimum or use other heat sources (ceramic heater, blue/red light bulb etc.) However, that being said, glass isn't a good insulator, sit beside a window in the winter and you can feel a cold draft from it.
