Black throat monitor escape!!please help...

hi i've got a black throat monitor that is about 3foot long, for some what reason it got out of it cage, the cage is a 75gallontank it was temporary while i was setting up a 6by4by4 but when i finish puting the cage up and turn around it was gone, the tank has a lid, but now it's gone!!!. i've looked everywhere down in my basement for 3hours. It's as big as a regular donut side,my basement is very seals, please give me tips on how to recapture him, i've tried hanging a dead mouse with a bunch of bells from chirstmas, i came back and the mouse is gone, but still no lizards insight. Please this is the first tim he has done this to me. any tips please just help me out, email me at megadestroyah@yahoo.com if you have any tips or anything for me. If anyone tip help me to catch him i'm willing to pay that person 20 bucks paypal, moneyorder. cause this monitor cost me 220 to get and 20 is nothing....

Look around the cage and work your way out because when they escape they dont go far initially, then they hide and rest, after which they search farther. Look in a circlular pattern starting from the cage and cover everything, especially when you dont think its possible to hide in or under it. Most probably the last 2 places you would look or think to look, thats where Ive always found any escaped reptiles.
