Hey, BP Forum folks....

The thread that started this whole mess was not deleted. It was moved to the Open Discussion Forum. It can be found here: http://forums.kingsnake.com/view.php?id=248904,248904
Judge for yourself if it should've started a troll attack.

That is an *edited* version of the original thread that was posted.

I believe the thread was edited because it violated the TOS.

original thread have invited a troll attack?
Once again, it is KS's right to edit, and move, posts/threads.

This thread was edited *after* it was moved from the ball python forum.

Any responses that may have been directed at this particular thread on the ball python forum were directed at the *unedited* version that sat there for many hours and *not* the edited version that you have referenced.

I think you are making a "leap of faith" in presuming that this thread was entirely responsible for the rather voluminous number of posts that appeared on the forum late last night/early today. Even assuming for one moment that you are correct (which I am not conceding), it would be extremely difficult to now examine a sliced-and-diced thread and pass judgement on whether or not this thread should have provoked that kind of response.

No, the truth is that I edited the one remark out of the post at your request. Not because it violated TOS because it does not. I reluctantly did it in hopes of quieting down any problems. And it was edited on the BP forum. It was not until later when some actual TOS violations were removed from the thread was it decided to move it to a more appropriate venue.

...about the editing.

After every reply I made to the original post had been deleted, I requested that the thread be removed since it contained what I considered to be a violation of the TOS.

From that point forward I did not re-read the thread and hence did not know that the thread had been edited.

When the thread eventually was moved from the bp forum I assumed that it was due to my complaint reagarding what I considered to be a violation of the TOS.

The poster of the thread had referred to my wife as a "foxy lady" and had implied in no uncertain terms that he had discussed this with me (which he most certainly had not). This was something that I felt was covered under the TOS where it is stated that "sexual slurs" are not allowed.

Now that you have explained that this term is acceptable under the TOS, I would like to thank you for removing it anyway, since I personally found it to be in poor taste.

Thank you.
