Aggressive Feamle....

Cardinale May 31, 2003 10:28 PM

I got a 18 month female leo a couple of days ago from a friend that moved away and I went to hold her today and she went to bite me. The person I got her from didn't handle her at all and she isn't use to being held. Is there anything I can do so I can hold her, or is it too late??

You can keep trying, and she might get used to you. It might be to late though, since she is so old...they older they are the harder it is to get them used to you. I would keep trying though, hopefully she will come around. What type of leo is she? Do you have a pic?

let her slowly get used to you. Since they didnt handle her, it will take some patience. For about a week, put your hand in her cage so she sees it. After about a week, she'll get curious and might come over to investigate. You can alsogive her treats from hand so she knows your the person who feeds her. She will then realize your not a threat, and you can start short periods of handlng each day, do this and she should come around good luck,
