Looking for stackable, affordable beardie enclosures

Snakemother Nov 20, 2003 08:06 AM

Anyone know where I can buy stackable beardie enclosures with all the light fixtures fitted right in the cages? I've almost started a fire in my house from the loose, on-top-of cages lights and cobbled together system I have, so I want to get something nice and safe for beardies and family alike. Also, since I have 7 beardies to house, I'm looking for something as affordable as possible.
Thanks!

I used the older style slant front Neodesha snake cages for my beardies. I have 6 stacked cages and they only take up approx 3 x 4 foot area.

I added the lighting myself to all the cages for less than $100 complete.

I got a 6 cage rack and 4 used cages for $400 and then I bought two new cages straight from Neodesha.... Even if you went new for everything you could house 6 dragons for less than $1000.00

Neodesha, btw, do a line of nesting cages now...

We've actually got four 32" Nesting cages ordered that should be here sometime within the next week or so.

Here's their website..

They're also doing a special offer til Christmas... Spend over $275 (not including tax & shipping) and get 10% off your order... If you're buying a grand's worth of cages, that's 100 bucks off

You could build some if your feeling handy. I'm building an 8 foot cage which is going to have 6 4 foot cages stacked on top of it. Each four foot cage should cost me about $100 including all the lighting. Cost breakdown is about like this:

Melamine: $12
Glass: $35
Household Fluorescent: $5.00
Reptisun 5.0: $20.00
3' Fluorescent fixture: $20.00
60 watt halogen spot: $5.00
Wires: $5.00
Glass Tracks: $12

Total: $114

Here's the 8 foot cage almost finished which will have a 160 watt powersun as the main basking bulb rather than the household bulb seen here (it's for my Egyptian Uromastyx Boulder, who's getting a girlfriend next week =) Don't mind the picture, it's a bunch stuck together to get the full 8 foot cage.
