Question about NA wood maturity

I have read that in the wild they take anywhere from 8-15 years to reach sexual maturity. In captivity it takes less time, but how much less. There have been a few people that told me their female reached sexual maturity at 4 yrs. I find that hard to believe. What is your imput?

I to think that 4 years is a bit quick but I have seen 7 years in a female. Why are you trying to breed?
