hi all,

i got 2 ADFs a few days ago and they're doing pretty great! very active and entertaining to watch. both of them are female and are pretty large in size. i was wondering if it was normal for them to have a hump on their back. not one big hump that just juts out, but like... 2 little grooves on their back that kinda suck in at the spine. all the ADFs at the pet store had the 2 sideways humps, so i'm assuming that they either 1) are like that, or 2) are bloated. i asked what they've been feeding their ADFs and they said bloodworms each morning and a cricket once a week. i know they shouldn't have a staple of bloodworms coz that's what can cause bloating and sickness to ADFs, and i'm not even sure if they're supposed to eat crix. it's also my understanding that ADFs are supposed to eat every OTHER day, not every day. although i told them this, i don't think they'll change their mind on feeding.

but anyways, just wondering if the hump on the back was normal - my ADFs are now on a staple of brine shrimp & the occasional blood worm.

My females look like that too. It is normal. Just a characteristic of a fat, healthy girl.
