SHED question

DinoTheBall Nov 20, 2003 06:47 PM

My ball just finished shedding, well atleast almost, there is still unshed skin on his head that i just cant get off. I have put him in a container with warm water for an hour a night for about 4 days and I cant get the skin off. He isnt head shy I just cant get it off for some reason. Anyone have any advice on how to get it off? I raised the humidity to 80 in his cage but that didnt seem to loosen it.

Get a CLEAN spray bottle (we use one of those garden pump sprayers) and spray them really good with room temp water (or slightly warmer.) Let the water droplets sit on the area where the skin is stuck for about 15-20 mins. Lightly rub the edges of the old skin with your finger... should come right off.

In the open top rack systems that most of us use we have to spray the animals a couple of time a week to keep sheds complete.

Good Luck!
