A note on those internet ball breeders...

triniian Nov 20, 2003 06:52 PM

I must say, at first when I explored the Ball Python sites and noticed the prices for the different morphs, I was a bit skeptical about everyone's motives behind their snakes.

I found my "normals" for $25 each and they are awesome... at the time $75,000 seemed just a little unreasonable.

Over the past few months, I have noticed that the majority of HELPFUL, POLITE, INSPIRING, and INFORMATIVE posts in these threads come from the very same sites that I've visited.

These are showings of true snake lovers, and I'm upset at myself for developing a bad stigma.

I want to thank you all for the kind assistance you give! Hopefully one day I will be able to invest in a rare morph, and you better believe I have an idea where to go and get them! I particularly enjoy those banded/reduced ones...

Anyways, thanks for the help guys, you've really helped me tweak out all of my minor issues with my balls and hopefully I can return the favor someday.

Heh... I'm with you. I love the looks of a lot of the morphs, but it'll be a long time before I have the money to invest in one.

Of course, in some ways that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'd hate for any animal to suffer from my inexperience and/or ignorance, but I'd hate even more to lose a very expensive rare morph to my "learning curve". Then, not only do you have the loss of the animal, you also have the loss of the investment. You get a double whammy.

This way, we get to learn before we can think about moving up to the more serious investments.

Iman, believe me when I say I know exactly where you are coming from, I was in the same boat a few years ago and since I have invested in some high dollar dollar morphs, they are just as awsome as my normals and the people I have met along the way will NEVER be forgotten. I have met ALOT of really great people and made ALOT of new friends!!

Good Luck and Take care
