been in communication with a higher up at petco re: temps for beardies...

he is trying to be nice...

I noted that the babies at my local petco were in a cage with reptisun bulbs but no basking spot...
I stated my concern over this, the thermoregulation and the basking temps for metabolizing food.

the people in the store would have loved to just grab a light and holder off the shelf and put it in but will get in trouble if they do so......

this gentlemen wrote me back saying that he spoke with a very experienced reptile vet that told him that its not necessary for them to have such high temps to metabolize their food and that they will do well at 85 degrees.................

im thinking that others here have had similar encounters..

bizarre

that since they are captive bred they dont need the variation in temps.............and this wont affect how they metabolize their food....where do they get this stuff from?
