Feeding question

bmulcahy Nov 20, 2003 07:41 PM

I have three 5 month old beardeds in a 75 gallon tank and when I put the crickets in the tank they hide everywhere. I found crickets at night biting the sleeping dragons. I started feeding the dragons in an empty 20 gallon tank so that the crickets don't bother the dragons at night. My problem - One of my beardeds freaks out in the tank and will eat maybe one or two crickets. What can I do? Thanks for any suggestions!

Are you putting the dragons in the feeding tank seperatley? Perhaps you could try putting the crix in a slick sided bowl/ashtray so they can't get out and the beardie wouldn't have to chase them.

Did he eat in his own tank previously? Having beardies together sometimes causes problems. If the noneating beardie feels dominated by the others it can cause him to be timid. Unless you know the sex of the beardies, and they are all female, they should be seperated by the time they are 6 mo old.

I believe they are all females (that is what the expert? said. The one with problems will eat in their living tank - I just have a problem with those darn crickets living in the drift wood. The one with problems was the most dominant of the three and the other two eat withou any problems in the empty tank. I just cleaned the drift wood today and found 6 crickets living in it. I am beffuddled! Any suggestions would be appreciated.
