redtail question

xfreaksh0wx Nov 20, 2003 10:21 PM

Call me stupid, What is the difference between a columbian red tail boa and a columbian boa? I've seen photos claiming to be each but the snakes look the same

they are one, and the same!!! Redtail Boa is a generic term used to describe....the red tail of the boa constrictor. In the hoddy though, the TRUE redtails are the BCC (boa constrictor constrictor) they command a slightly higher price than the BCI's (boa constrictor imperator) that you'd normally see in a pet shop. BCI's are more common than BCC's and gereally make great pet snakes.
