Shy Leos?

BeardieKid14 Jun 01, 2003 12:20 AM

I have 4 females, and two males. One older male and female are housed together, 3 females in another cage, and 1 male by himself. Whenever I change there mealworms they always run and hide and usually wont let me watch them eat. Why is this? Are they shy or is this just the nature of leopard geckos?

Thanks,
Adam Hallquist

they could be shy. how long have you had them? how often do you handle them? all of them do this? and they may just be running away before they realize it's you, not a predator.

My leo's are the total opposite. If I stick my hand in my tank my male will walk out of his hide and walk onto my hand. My female is almost like that but hasn't actually walked onto my hand yet. I have handfed my male before too. I guess you just have to handle them more and they will get used to you.
