If your animal is eating an appropriate, quality and balanced diet- vitamin and mineral supplements are probably not very necessary- BUT we do them anyway because even with the best care- we can't match the variety, freshness and appropriateness of what the animal would be eating in the wild- we don't have access to the plants they normally eat. We do the best we can with what can be bought or locally gathered, and supplement with vitamins/minerals to hopefully fill in any little holes.
I supplement with a Calcium/Vitamin D3 powder and separate vitamin powder (reptivite and reptical brand) a few times a week. The bottles/brand you buy has directions for amount. I also use Oxbow critical care and mix that in occasionally.
