Hmmmmmm. It's really hard to say. It'd be an interesting jury to be on, that's for sure...although I think my stomach would void itself of its contents on multiple occassions if I had to listen to genuine evidence of child molestation.
First off...I think any parent who would allow their child to go and stay over at MJ's place should be reviewed by their local child welfare offices!
As for Michael...let's see. He has a genuine fondness for children, we just can't see how deep or twisted that fondness might or might not run. He believes he is above the law and somehow separate from the rest of society. Just those two facts would (and do) keep me from even buying any of his music, much less allowing children to visit him, supervised or otherwise. But he has already been accused of this in the past, and instead of facing it, he paid the family(ies?) off.
Is it possible that this is just more families hoping for a big payoff from an innocent man? Possible. But it is also just as likely that he believes seeking "solace, comfort and affection" from children is somehow OK for him because he's "special."
all very good points
its sooooo hard to say either way.
the parents might have let they're kids go and set him up because he payed other families off.
but on the other hand he could be a "diper sniper" and no one really knows what way it could go.
i think in this case it might be hard to say beyond a resonable doubt that micheal actually did this. wich means he might get off.
unless he's on video tape or something. god help anyone who has to endure that.
they searched his house and didn't find any child porn.
in alot of cases the "diper sniper" has child porn.
so i just don't know what to think.
should turn out to be a very interesting case
I bet a 100 bucks he gets Jonny Cockern. (O.J's laywer)
Actually, I heard today that he's got the same lawyer as that Peterson fellow.
Believe it or not, Johnny Cochran is doing personal-injury ads in the DC area. I don't know if he's doing them anywhere else, but it sounds kind of pathetic given all the noteriety he had a few years ago.
hahahahaha
he's become the "goerge forman" of lawyers
hehe
sucker!
I heard one interesting thing on a liberal radio show yesterday that really made a lot of sense. Considering how much money Michael has, if he really wanted to molest children, why wouldn't he just go to some other country where he could do it legally whenever he wanted? Many countries don't have laws to protect children like ours does. I understand some places like Taiwan have a very very low age of consent, and some don't even have laws to prevent it at any age.
Why wouldn't he do this, after the last accusation he went through? I personally think he is innocent. He is just so creepy that it is hard not to believe something bad happened.

I take it back!
I just heard they found explicit letters and poems that Michael wrote to the kid that is accusing him. I don't think he is innocent now. (assuming that the letters existence and content is true)
Rodney
oh my god
where did you hear that
i don't watch TV so its hard to keep up
i just read the paper and i haven't yet heard that!
i am very interested in everyones oppinion as to what they think the trial out come will be
or if it even goes to trial as he may just pay that kid off as well.
wich souldn't even be legal in my opinion the police should step in and lay the charges so he can't get away with child molestation
the most horrific act humans can perform in my opinion
thanks
Ten years ago, MJ paid off a kid and therefore they dropped all charges and he didn't have to face a trial. The laws have changed since then. Even if MJ pays the kid off and they drop the charges, the state can still prosecute if they believe they have enough evidence to do so.
The information about the "love letters" came from a British tabloid. So far, it hasn't been backed up by anyone else, but I'm not following it that closely. My news may be old news by now.
I respect rodmalm's opinions, but believe he may be wrong in some of his reasoning (though he retracted that reasoning when he mentioned the letters they found). He stated that if MJ wanted to do evil things with children, he could go to any number of foriegn countries to do so. True enough. But I don't think we're talking about an ordinary pedophile here. There may be sickos out there who plan ways to get their kicks and would look into those countries where it is easier or even legal to do so. But Michael isn't like that, I don't think. I'm not defending his actions in the least, but I really do think they stem from a totally different psychosis. He's "looking for love" and probably genuinely cares about the kids he comes in contact with...if in a twisted sort of way. Maybe he thinks kids are more innocent and therefore more capable of loving him for who he really is, rather than because he is a super-celebrity with a crazy amount of money. He then "falls in love" with such a kid.......blah blah blah....no need to speculate the details there.
Anyhow...I do believe he's capable of such a thing, for the reasons I've stated. I do believe he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, but I also hope he recieves some serious psychological counseling as well. (Although I doubt it'd change anything about him.)
Just my input for the day.
I should add that I do agree with rodmalm that it is entirely possible to believe Michael is guilty just because he's so darned creepy and weird. He's also a prime candidate for extortion from sicko parents who would put their children at risk and in the public spotlight just to get a few dollars and a few minutes of fame. If I were selected for that jury, I would go in with an open mind to all possibilies. I don't know at all if he did it or not.
