Hmmm so i know you guys said a 20 long should only be used for one collared lizard.....but that'd be near adult.....i was just wondering....if i got 2 Juviniles and put them in the 20 long.....would they be ok for a few months while i save up for a bigger cage?

thanks,
-Matt-

Hello mate,

Not sure i am too qualified to comment being pretty new to this forum but have you considered building one ???

I built my Viv and also a unit with cuboards and shelves etc for it to stand on so that it looks like a peice of funiture rather than say a tank sitting on a non matching type unit, Which is not a bad thing but as i have the space i preferred this look.

The Viv itself measures inches wide, 19 inches tall and 15 inches front to back.
The unit is 39 inches wide, 13 inches front to back and about 24 ish tall.
including the vents, glass, glass runners and basically everything other than the lighting it cost me £80 which is about $120 ish i think.

If you just made the viv as opposed to the unit you could do it for around £45 i reckon.
I have got some pics at home which i will upload as soon as i get chance so you can see it for yourself.

funky.
p's it's not hard, This is the first thing I have made since I left school yet between me and Karen (my GF) we did it in about a week just working on it for a few hours after work.

When I first got my babies they were only a month old and I had them in a 10 gallon cage until a few months ago. A few months ago they were about 5 months old and I moved them to what I believe is a 40 gallon cage. They love the bigger cage!

guys you still didn't answer my question. lol
i was just asking if it would be okay to keep them in a 20 long for a month or two.......i already have the 20 gallon....so that's what i'd have to do...because i wouldn't be able to afford the new tank for awhile.
Thanks for the info about making cages....i was thinking about that for awhile....but there's a place over here that i found 60 gallon tanks for $109 .......so i'll prolly just go for that.....but yeah,.....back to the origional question......would 2 juvinile Collared Lizards be alright in a 20 long for a few months?

thanks.
