Kyle,
I'm kinda feelin like a dart frog? that FF is looking tasty!!!
Tim
When we dropped off the imitators you mentioned you were looking for a new camera, are these pics from it? Regardless, what camera did you use?
I saw the pic and the first words that came to my mind were, "Look mom, I've got boobies!!!!" don't know where that came from, but your Azureus is very healthy!
Melis
btw...I have finally gotten some egg development on our intermedius. I think I had tried just about everything to get the eggs to develop....and hope was running out.

Thanks, and no this is still my old camera, Sony F707, the new one should be out around x-mas Sony 828, but I will wait until spring to get one.
Yes both my azureus are a bit fat, i've cut back the ff's for them, since they are eating machines.
Good to hear about the intermedius. I think my Leucs are about ready to start breeding so that will be a whole new adventure. I can't wait.

This can be very bad for a frog and can lead to touble moving, shortened life span, and may loose the ability to reproduce. If they aren't breeding I would stop feeding them any hydie and only feed them a dozen or so melanogastor per frogs. If they are breeding I would stop breeding them and run them through a dry season with reduced humidity and less food till they are back in condition to breed. You need to take care of this right away.
Thanks
Danny

Always looking for female vents and plants
A lot of it is the angle also, they are getting smaller, and I am slowly cutting back what I feed them. Never good to just cut the food supply to any animal if they are fat, better to slowly cut back.

Great PICS.
The female in the pair of azureus that i just got about a week ago kind of looks the same way. is this really that big of a deal or could it turn into something serious? also i know we have asked you many times about your camera and i know something was said about it further down in this topic, but i have to ask are those PICS. just taken with your Sony f 707 or do you have a macro added? I am asking because I am still looking for a camera and my choices have been narrowed down to the Sony f 717 or the new Canon Rebel digital. What are your thoughts on the two; and do you have anything different that you would recommend?
Again great PICS.
thanks
ADAM
I'm not sure on the fattness, i've cut my feeding back to be safe.
As for the cameras, to be honest it depends on what you like to take pictures of, and how much you want to spend on lenses. I can say that the F717 has a great lens, and takes great pictures, but it will not be that great a very fast action shots, and the Canon will. Other then that its all about what you want. The canon has some nice features, but I'm waiting for the new Sony 828. It will be 8 megapixels with a 4 color CCD. So if you not in a hurry you could wait until the end of Dec. If you are look online you can get some really nice deals on either the Sony or the Canon.
I do use a small macro set that is more like filters than lenses, they are about $55 and help get you a little closer to the frogs. Oh ya the sivel body on the Sonys is great, hard to explain until you have used it, but to go without I would go nuts. It really helps for the frog pics also.
Hope that helps,

...and like Kyle are looking to upgrade to a newer Sony model when we have the free cash. I definetly agree with Kyle about the swivel lens, it really frees you up to take pics from unbelievable angles.
What macro lense are you using on yours Kyle. I only even use the built in macro settings and I can never get shots as close as that.
The sonys have a lot of built in gadgets that enable you to get even better pics.
Good luck!

Do you mean a F505 or a DSC-S75?
I use a Hoya 58mm close-up set. It comes with a 1, 2, 4 and then you can stack them if needed. I will say they are tough to use as the really reduce the Depth of Field (whats in focus). So at times you might not be able to get all of the frog in focus without going to a manual setting and forcing a higher F stop.
