peach & pear baby food for green anole

jbmac Nov 21, 2003 10:44 AM

I just put some baby food in with my green anole. What i want to know is how long can i keep the baby food in there? Another thing is, it says on the jar to refrigorate the baby food in the jar for up to 48 hours, does this mean it won't be safe to feed anoles after 48 hours too.

thanks in advance

Baby food molds very quickly. It should probably be removed after a few hours, as mold can cause illness or death in your lizard. It goes bad in the fridge after a few days, too. :P

Why don't you skip the baby food and offer your anole papaya or mango. Just cut a little fruit up into thin slices and your lizard should swallow it down.
I have also had luck feeding green anoles raw chicken from time to time, in addition to live and dead feeder insects.
