Since i first got her/him it always had rinkles on it sides, i didnt think much of it cuz it seemed to go away, but sometimes when it decides to turn sharply its skin rinkle and makes it look thin. I am feeding him a variety of vegies and fruits, still cannot find that spring mix of greens. I give him a hand ful of thoughed out mix i made a day, theye is always some left the next day, exept a few occasions.

My iguana goes through weeks where he doesn't want to eat a lot, and he goes from being a fat little ig to having some baggy skin on his side when he sits in certain positions. The first time it happened, I felt terrible, because he looked like he was starved. But now that I know it's mostly due to the season changing and breeding season coming on, I just watch him carefully. I make sure he's drinking water, and also that the lack of appetite doesn't last more than a few days.

I don't know a lot about your setup... iguanas will be more interested in their food if the cage is brightly lit, and they get enough UV and heat... also, you can feed your iguana a wide variety of greens such as watercress, spring onion, kale, collards, chard, mustard and turnip greens, frisee, and dandelion. If you have a Giant supermarket where you are, they have a produce guide book in the vegetable aisle, and I use it all the time to figure out which leaves are what.

Is he just not eating a lot? Or is there other stuff going on as well? How old is he? What's your setup like?

I have a meium size cage (3 1/2" long, 2 1/2 wide, and 3" tall) that is light by a 18" uvb bulb, i have a 100w infared heat lamp that i leave on 24/7. I also have another basking lamp to provide a little extra heat on those cold canadian days. I have a heating pad under a 12/12 tile. He has a big branch he likes to climb. I have a thermometer in the middle of the cage and it usually reads 78, but he has a branch that gets about 90, closer to the infared bulb. I have been feeding it squash, cantaloupe, carrots, parsnips, mango(he doesnt like at all), green beans, and snow peas. I have been very unlucky with finding the proper greens in my areas. I have checked thriftys, overwaity, and quality foods. None of these stores have any collard greens, turnip greens, or mustard greens. Can someone help me out? Some one posted a good spring mix you could buy packaged. But i was unable to find that either.
what can i feed him for greens?
any thing a normal store would have? cabbage, lettuce????
thanks
dave
