kind of a dumb question....

mitchellaube Nov 21, 2003 04:19 PM

I want to breed my ball pythons and am wondering when i should start conditioning them for the next breeding season. If any one has any tips it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any help!

One word for you ...

Pilates!

LOL ... only kidding of course.

Just feed 'em and make 'em big. 1500 grams(plus) for the female and 750 grams(plus) for the male. Then the fun starts.

Good luck!

There are many ways to successfully breed ball pythons. One of them is outlined in Kingsnake.com's ball python guide. A web search will also lead you to dozens of other methods that work equally as well.

With a little reading you will begin to see a pattern and then be able to develop a method that works for you.

Good Luck!

Rob Carmichael is da man!

He can sometimes be found frequenting the Burmese Python board, if you have specific questions that his webpage doesn't answer.

Good luck!
This is my first year trying, as well!

I begin "cooling down" in the middle of October, though I have no reason to believe that this is advantageous over any other time of year. I know that a lot of people begin much sooner, to avoid temps that are too low during the winter. I'm lucky to live in Southern California (as long as I don't get swallowed by brush fires, that is!).

Out of curiosity, though: where's the "dumb" question? I looked all over for it, and can't seem to find it!
