Hotshot Nov 21, 2003 06:42 PM

Im not into salamanders as pets, but do think they are pretty neat. I only keep snakes, so I dont know if I have these ID'd correctly or not. For those of you who know your salamanders, let me know. They were all found in Hardin county KY.

Ravine salamander

This one Im positive on, Northern Red Salamander. My wifes nephew found it in their flower bed and rereleased it after I photographed it.

Northern 2 lined

Long Tail Salamander

And an Eastern Zig-Zag salamander

Those are really neat! We have the northern two-lined up here in NY, and if I turn up a few rocks in the back, I know where to find some. Although the 5 inches of snow we have now puts a damper on doing that
Can't wait till Spring, when outdoor herping will be fun again!
