? About breeding Jungle Corns? Cal King X. Normal Corn.

designfan Nov 21, 2003 10:39 PM

I know I might get a bit of slack from asking this? since Hybrids are to some a touchy issue. I was wondering what is the best breeding method to produce Jungle Corns? Is it best to use a male Cal king with a female Corn or the other way around? I have a Super High white king that tries to breed with anything and was thinking of trying my luck breeding him to my Hypo Miami corn next season.

Thanks in advance
Dave

PS...Just my opinion but I think Hybrids natural or man made can be great snakes, so long as the are represented for what they are(HYBRIDS). Just my 2cents.

Corns are of the "wham bam thank you mam" breeding, and Kings like to linger FOREVER so if you put a female corn with a male king she might want to go her seperate way before he is done with his business. So you put a male corn with a female king so that the male is done quickly and the king hasn't tired.

Of course there is always the fear that the king will eat the corn, so it's not the easiest thing to do!
