A California Newt found in San Luis Obispo County

Looks like Taricha granulosa to me.
Where's this county?

It does look like T. granulosa doesn't it? San Luis Obispo is south of Monterey County and well south of the southern limit of the range of T. granulosa.

I don't think T. granulosa are found that far south. I think their territory ends in Santa Cruz Co. I think it's probably T. torosa torosa.

Exactly! It is not granulosa but torosa. It just looks like granulosa. If this newt were put in an aquarioum with a bunch of T. granulosa, it would be almost impossible to tell it apart from real granulosa.
