I've had a male Painted Turtle for 5 years, he is atleast 6 or 7 years old. For like 3 years that I had him he lived with an adult female RES. I gave away that RES last year. I have another RES it is half the size of my Painty(Painty is about 5 inches). I put the little RES in with my Painty, I came back like 2 minutes later to find Painty chasing the RES around the tank snapping at it's neck. Are Painted Turtles territorial or does my Painty have a thing against RES?
