I was wondering how much better ackies(yellow or red) do in groups as compared to alone. What is the real difference between red and yellow(besides color) and why are reds like 100$ more. Thanks and I love my dumerils monitor(little dinosaur)

The red is an Acanthurus, its red and has a pattern on its head and neck, gets larger (a bit). The yellow is a Brachyurus (I think), its yellow or brown or black etc, is a bit smaller. You see the difference even if you find a reddish yellow, a red is much brighter.
Scroll down a number of posts and see "Ackie Group Picture" so you can see how mine like to be in their little group. It is easier to start with a juvie group than to introduce a new adult to the group, but it can be done with vigilance. Ackies do seem quite social. In the other post in this thread it stated that yellows are smaller which is also true and sometimes the yellows can be reddish yellow, I have a girl that color. If you are just looking for nice ackies you don't have to spend the extra for reds, but they are beautiful. Proexotics has a nice trio for sale now, check it out. Good luck, I love my three.
