Hey all!
As with my last posts - i mentioned that Lil, (one of my 3 males Blotchies) has some sores around his mouth. I noticed last night that he also has a little bump which is just infront of one of his front legs. The sores around the mouth kinda look like small cold sores that you would see a person have. Someone has to have had some experience with this - so help me out please!!!!!!!

Looks pretty ugly and deep- is this animal housed with other BTS? If so it could be an infected bite wounds. If not, could be infected self trauma (rubbing or scraping on things). If you have the option of a vet visit, I would do that- they can take a culture of the lesion and see what bacteria grow, if any. They can look at material from the area and look directly for organisms. A biopsy of a lesion can rule out fungal infection. Your vet can then provide you with cleaning recommendations, topical medication recommendations or products, or systemic antibiotics or anti-fungal if indicated.
