Hey,

I just got my first Crested Gecko and I must say I LOVE the little guy... Such a sweet reptile in everyway... So heres the lowdown of everything I have.... For starters I'm using a 10 gallon tank for the enclosure (the gecko is about 5 1/2 inches long at the moment), as the substrate I'm using T-Rex forest Bedding... Seems to work really, really well... I'm trying to keep the temps around 70 - 75 on the cool side, and 75 - 80 on the warm side... I heard that anything over say, 85 can prove lethal to these little gyms... I've densley populated the tank with some Fake Plants, and many logs to climb and bask on. Humidity is staying at about 55 - 60 percent, is this okay? I mist the little beasty twice a day (morning, evening). I also keep a shallow dish of water inside the tank at all times... Now for the food, I'm using the Crested Gecko MRP Diet that T-Rex recently put out, as well as banana and turkey baby food... I sprinkle Rep-Cal and Herptivite into the baby food for added nutrients... How many of you feed your Cresteds crickets? And how often do you do it? Again, I know there is a Rhac forum, but you all are so much help here, I decided not too look anywhere else... CRESTEDS and LEOPARDS are the BOMB... Nuff said...

Thanks,
Richie

I feed zero crix to all my Rhacs. I use the t-rex diets exclusively with great results. If you gecko is regularly eating what you are feeding now, there is no need for crix if that is something you are shooting for.

When I had Rhacs, I fed them crix three times a week and babyfood three times a week. I have yet to have a crestie or an auric that will eat the t-rex diets. If I added it to babyfood, they ignored the babyfood. Go Figure.

Personally, I like to feed them crix because I think it gives them exercise. All my rhacs were slugs unless they were chasing crix.
