Adequate Enclosure Size for an Adult Caimen??

I've been to several websites and they clearly state that the enclosure for an adult caimen should be about 3 times its SVL length. Seems like a very large enclosure, even for a female caimen.

I've been to several pet stores who have adult caimens on display and the enclosures are not even close to being 3 times the SVL length. If a female caimen is about 4 feet, would the enclosure have to be about 8-10 feet long? The pet store had their display caimen in an enclosure that was about 4 feet long(caimen being about 3.5 feet).

What size enclosure do you house your adult caimen? Is it homemade or did you buy it commercially?
