veils mouth is open...

tonight when i came into my rpom i seen my veils mouth open and when i removed the heat lamp he closed it.. does this mean he was hot??I thought chameleons are heat animals. can someone tell me what temperatures im supposed to keep my veil at night and during the day?

Your cham will open his mouth to cool down while he/she's basking. This is normal.

For adult chams, your basking spot should be from 95-105.
Younger chams shouldn't exceed 100. (95 is a good temp)

As for the rest of your enclosure: 75deg in the cool zone and a gradient to your hot zone.
