Public Service Announcement... PLEASE READ (off topic)...

Lightening has struck twice... only this time much worse...

Tonight I was driving home from the facility when my Toyota LandCrusier was hit on the driver's side by a cargo fan going 40-50 mph through a stop sign. My SUV then went into a ditch and hit a telephone pole. I had to climb out of the rear passenger side door after frantically trying to kick the windows out of the driver's side. I was wearing a seatbelt and my airbags deployed. I was able to walk away from this one with a few cuts and bruises... God has been on my side once more!

30 minutes ago I was released from the ER with minor cuts and large bruising on my left side. Lucky yet again!

The driver of the van was not the owner and he was drunk and high on methamphetamines. The owner was NOT insured. The driver has been in and out of jail for driving while intoxicated and other crimes. He had a suspended liscense and warrants out for his arrest. He was NOT wearing a seatbelt and from what I overheard in the ER... he has a broken sternum.

This is a public service announcement... please DON'T DRIVE WHILE INTOXICATED! You could kill someone ELSE!! Call a cab... catch a ride... but DON'T GET BEHIND THE WHEEL!!

I'm not yet sure what condition my SUV is in... as I don't remember a whole lot of tonights events. From what I DO remember... it will most definitely be a total. Stay tuned for photo's of the SUV in the next few days.

Some of you may remember last December when my Toyota 4Runner was rear-ended at 40-45 mph and fliped over across 3 lanes of traffic because the woman driving was picking up something off the floor.

I definitely believe now that I must have an angel on each shoulder. I really don't want to go throught this again... not sure when the luck will run out.

I would like to take this time to thank you all for your continued friendship as every friend in my life makes a difference every day! Hug and Kiss those that you love and never forget how much you love life!

It is moments like these that I value the friendship of so many people who I feel make a difference in my daily life...

God be with you...

Sean, I am glad to hear that you are okay.. The vehicle will be replaced. Hopefully the guy that struck your vehicle will get some time for this incident. Its only a matter of time before he does in deed kill somebody.

Anyways take care of yourself and get some rest as the next few days or so will be the worse..

I hope all else is well and I will be talking to you soon!

Take care my friend

Bryan

The LORD definitely was looking out for you.
Drunk drivers make me fume. I was hit by one two years ago, and he didnt even get a ticket.
Tougherlaws on 1st time offenders needs to happen.
Too many times are they thrown back out on the streets to kill and damage innocent people.
I feel you get caught, drinkin and driving, you should sevre at least 30 days. NO plea deals. Go to alcohol class' etc.
Do it again. lose you licencse and go to jail for at least a year.
If you kill someon drinking and driving, you should get at least 15 years.
I had a close family member, die of drunk driving, i also had a very close family member drink and drive and kill someone.
I think my relative got off way too easy and should still be in jail, but thats the way the system works.

Just glad to hear you ok. Just goes to show you, you never know when He's going to call for you, so ya better be ready.

Sorry, Glad you are OK. If you would of been in a small car you would be dead.

No one is to be trusted

JM Nov 23, 2003 05:08 PM

And not a target?

Unfortunatly with the holidays coming we will see more incidents like this. I like to have a drink as much as the next guy (okay, more than most) but we all need to remember to be responsible about our entertainment.

Glad you were able to walk away from this one. Hope the target fades.

An angel should have prevented you from being hit, or prevented those people from getting behind the wheel in the first place!-- not helping you survive 2 big hits like these.

Good luck, and I hope you had uninsured coverage to help cover the costs of repairs,

Rodney

FYI, just think how much he appreciates life now and how much more of a contribution to life he will make in the future. I'm not getting into a discussion on this but had to comment on where you two were going with what you said.
