Yes, it is almost an island. The piece of land that connects the peninsula is very thin and pure desert. Those boas are very interesting, beside the different appearance and BCI qualities, they only get 4-5 feet long. Interesting enough, boas from the Margarita Island look just normal. Must be the desert like habitat on the peninsula that made them evolve that way.
