eat me for starters.....then listen..........

the bowl is clean.....the bowl is fine....the bowl actually has about an inch and a half of fresh water in it.....

it is stained and coated with calcium from my well water....

the water is fine as far as I know...tastes good....clear...smells good......

the bowl is probably 13 years old(like you?)

the bowls are cleaned alot....it takes me 3 days to do my dishes....

they are soaked in anti-bacterial dish soap(1/3 a bottle ) in the sink in my snake room (laundry tub size).....over night..then again with fresh water and soap...then a cup of bleach in with them and new water...then soap to get rid of bleach....then clean water at least once ,,,at times up to 3 times soaking in clean water........

and the water and the bleach gives them a coating........as does te water evaporating in them.......(for 13 years)......

yeppers........

and at times I scrape it off with a knife......but it doesn't hurt anything......so it isn't on my priority list.....

I knew that bowl was in the pic.....and I left it in pic .......(I could have just edited it out) all my pics are cut down for size anyways.)......but I know exactly how you all think and talk........

and I knew one of you(or 10) would say something.....

I have new bowls here all the time.........I have like 200

I am planning on using 3 1/2 ounce deli-cups as liners...so that I can just throw them away every week or so...and not even have water come in contact with the bowls.......but I try to find 3 1/2 oz cups........and this being America.....the people at the distribution centers all say.""I'll order them right now""""call me in a week...or three"".and when you call ...they all always say.....you want what? who? I'll have to order them...call me .........blah blah blah.......NOONE DOES THEIR JOB IN THIS COUNTRY........ even the millions that weren't born here)....

so anyways......you want to clean them?.......

use a lazer beam to get it off?.....micro-waves? radio waves?.....ocean waves?.......

have fun..no problem........

I have had the same problem with the waterbowls. Try a product seen on infomercials called CLR, or calcium, lime, rust. The stuff works wonders. rob

Like the cheapest, plain vinegar. Works great at dissolving those mineral deposits.

I hate chemicals........I hardly use any here.,.........

......they stain doesn't bother me....and the snakes have never said anything either.........
