behavior question

I am a new owner of a BRB. I have had her since the 11th of this month. She is young, 6months, about 24inches. I have never her seen her out of hiding. She is set up in a 40 gallon with about 4 different hide spots in diff temps. and very high humidity 80-85% normaly. Will she ever be active and explore her environment? I know they are nocturnal but even at night I have never seen her out. Are BRB's generally shy? or are they shy as babies and less so as adults? She is beautiful and I'd love to see her in view in her tank as I have is set up as a display type of tank, with plants and all natural hides and wood, stone bowl for water etc. just wondering if they are generally or if my little girl is just shy as she's a baby.
She has refused to eat so far, and did go kinda pale for about 4 days but then went back to normal without shedding...any ideas what that might have been about?
Thanks for input!

Ruth

Young BRB's are shy, and in nature, vulnerable. They're going to stay put in a nice hiding spot until they get really hungry and then you'll usually spot them poking their heads out of the hide spot. Once they are established and figure out they are not in danger, you'll see them often in the evenings. This can take a year or two. Feed them in a separate container that is dark, humid and around 80 degrees (sometimes if they don't take food right away leave them in overnight with a dead food item).
It can take up to a week or so after they clear out of blue to shed. A day or so after it sheds offer it food.
