Her newly aquired sripes are short, but they were not there yesterday and are lt orange. Do the stripes get darker as time passes? I am going to change there sand to the play sand everyone raves about. I was using calci sand and it is dusty and I don't like that especially now.

so excited!! I was just happy to get our two collards fat and happy, didn't expect her to lay eggs. Even is they are not fertile I am soooo excited!!!

Thanks!!
Tiff =)

Nice to be back. Was busy with family for the past month. Things have slowed down a bit

Should I get a small incubator or just let her take care of things? bit worried about her, with the past few impactions we had on the forum. I don't dust as often since I started feeding pinkies twice a month. I try to not over do it on the calcium.

I was looking at your pics and your guys are so colorful!!

Tiff, you can buy an incubator or just go to Will Wells site look under collared care and read, he and others just use a plastic container with small hole in top for ventilation, use vermiculite or perlite as a substrate for eggs, but there are specific temps listed for the eggs and time it takes what have you, helps alot, Oh and keep a nesting box with a small hole for her to enter, or a corner of tank with bricks and flat rock over top of bricks , with 3-4 inches of damp sand for her, she will start digging when near laying time, from the time they mate, till laying is 3-4 weeks. :0) Eve
