I can give you information on what you should see from the Black Milk. By the time a Black Milk snake is completely Black with no tri-color red or white showing top or bottom (somewhere around the 2 year mark) the Black milk should be longer and thicker than most Black Kings of the same age.

It takes the Black Milk at least 18 to 24 months to completely change to black. Ruminates of red, white or both can still be seen on the belly scoots (edges) on some at 2 1/2 years. Buy this time the Black Milk will be a Bull Dozer in girth, length, and weight.

If you would like a picture of a Black Milk Snake let me know. I have several of them from neonate to three years of age.

Hope this has helped you…

This is what i have to work with. The suspected Black milk is from 2002 and the Mex Blacks are this years. The suspected black milk is jet black. If i hold it together with a mex black king.....will there be any distinct feature differences?

thanks

Hello,
My 2002 black milks are about 3' long and still show signs of red and white bands, especially on the belly. A young MBK would be much smaller and completely black. Sounds like you have a MBK... usually if you have a black milk, you know so because (a) you paid a lot for it and (b) it was a tricolor as a baby.

Nate is correct. If you have a 02 Black milk the tri-color pattern would still be evident. Did you get the pictures I sent you of the neonate’s patterns and what the adult should look like at the different intervals of age?
