A Black Milk is not solid black as a hatchling. It has more of a red color also. A MBK is solid black as a hatchling. The Black Milk's turn solid black over time. Hope this helps. I am learning also.
As hatchlings, the black milk is tricolored. (black, white, red) as it matures it starts getting lots of black tipping in the scales and eventually turns all black. The black milk as an adult, are between 48" - 60".
The Mexican black king is black as a hatchling and only attain 24" - 32".

Good luck and Happy Herping

Thanks for the caresheets on the Black Milk and the MBK. I've been trying to figure out what I have here. I was told it was a proven two year old MBK but it's head/neck look exactly like the Black Milk snake in the first picture of the caresheet in the post above my post. He is also well over 32". He's about 4.5 feet long. One day I'll get a picture, though I don't have a digital, dog gone it.
Thanks for the photo's and care sheets
