I have recently read several posts about musking, deficating, and biting of (specifically) MBK's, and wanted to toss in my two cents.
Through my job as a science teacher, I have purchased 4 getula babies, and have been presented with another juvenile WC splendida. All 5 deficated upon their first handling, and 3 of them never did it again. Only one persisted in this behavior, being handled pseudo-daily, (not in the first 2 days after a feed, and over the weekends). None of my babies has ever even attempted to bite.
The "poopy" one happened to be a male CB splendida.
Of the two CB MBK's, both were male and absolute angels, a great motivator for JR Hi kids. (Behave and you can hold the snake.)
My Current keeper, a 2' yearling plus MBK, will eat right out of anyones hand, including my 4 year old daughters, as she loves him. He never squirms about, and actually seems to want NOT to return to his 10 gallon aquarium.
So for all those posting troubling behavior with getula juvies, My experience is that these snakes will calm down with age and handling, just as almost everyone else has posted.
Best of luck, and be sure there are those of us that would prefer a little "poop" from a snake to the other "poop" we get people.
