The checkering starts and stops on my anery- what does it all mean?

h0mersimps0n Nov 23, 2003 04:19 PM

Probably my second or third favorite in my collection is a regular anery A with the most perfect saddle pattern of any corn in my collection, it's 95% flawless. Well he was scaling the walls of his tank the other day (and loudly falling time after time) and I turned and noticed his belly checkering starts, stops for a good 5-6 inches where it is solid white, then starts again with lighter black checkers.

Do breaks in belly checkers mean anything?

Do aztecs or zig-zag have any funny belly patterns?

thanks

How big is your snake? Is this a hatchling or an adult? Afterall, it is relative. My snow cornsnake has a fairly large section (about 4 inches) that is devoid of checks like yours (starts and stops), but he is also 42 inches long, so that patch would have been considerably smaller when he was younger.

Just to let you know, the section that is lacking checks is close to the neck, where he looks similar to a motley on the dorsal side. A coincidence? Maybe not?
