Would there be any reason why silkworms can't eat collard green leaves??

Because they can't. It's really simple, they're specialized feeders and feed on mulberry leaves.

The reason I ask is because I haven't gotten the chow yet (ordered)and I wanted to make sure they had something. I put in some collard green leaves 3 days ago and they are eating it like crazy and are all still doing great. I was just curious is all.

exclusively on collard greens when you get the chow? That is unless they start to show obvious problems like no poo or become squishy (wouldn't want them to suffer).
