My big burm woke me up with a siren like noise today when my roomate opened the door really fast. He has nothing coming out of his mouth, no bubbles in his nose, but it looks like theres crust inside the top two nostrils and he sounds like there might be some kind of gurgle somewhere as well as breathing really heavy. Doesn't look like shed in his nose... An RTI maybe? I just fed him two jumbo rats yesterday afternoon, and he ate em up quick, so he seemed hungry at least (1st feed in a just over a week). He had no signs of RI just 15 hours before when he took the rats.
The temps have been 75 on the cool side and 78 on the warm side at night. 84/92 coolside/hotside during the day. He has been looking like a shed was about to happen for a week, so he's gotten soaked twice this week and the cage has been misted a few times per day. My little burm has been kept in nearly the same conditions, and she ate yesterday as well, and has no sign of any problems.
I just increased the temps to 94-95 on the hot side and keeping the other side 85 and plan on leaving them higher than normal during the night time. Whats the chance of him pulling out of this if in fact it is RTI without getting him to a vet? Also, are the temps too low at night? gradient too steep during the day? I figured a low of 75 was acceptable, so maybe too high of humidity?
