seeing chams ribs

jsinger Jun 01, 2003 11:37 AM

i was told to feed my dwarfs about 6 crix a day, but i have been feeding them each about 10 ... i realized that one of them has a smooth body, and skin, and looks normal - i also noticed one has ribs showing

is this normal ... is it because the one cham has a larger bone structure? the body looks nice and round, but it has ribs showing when i look - or is it puffing up when i enter the room, so te ribs show?

Jason-

Gravid females will show ribs. If they have both laid all there eggs now, and there is still ribs showing she may be under fed. After females lay there eggs and start to eat, you want to make sure they get the food they need for at least a week or two and dust it as needed. You don't want to let females eat all they can so they don't produce to many eggs. If you have them I would feed silkworms because they are very easy for the chameleon to digest and the best staple food you can feed. A few wax worms to build back up body fat lost will also help! Hope this helps!
