babies raised w/o crickets...and where to find small supers/silks

Ody Nov 24, 2003 12:32 AM

This is a question to any of you that don't feed crix to your babies. I just saw some pics of some babies raised w/o crickets, and when comparing them to others around the same age, they seemed quite a bit smaller/less plump. Is this always the case, or have you been able to raise babies that are nice and fat w/o crix?

Also, anybody know where I can buy baby/small superworms and/or silkworms??

I replied to your email, but will reply here also.....

They do tend to grow slower that cricket fed babies, but ........ at about 8 weeks they take of on a growth spurt and plump up and gain length like crazy!

Cricket FREE babies!

JLJ2018 Nov 24, 2003 11:25 AM

I bought a cricket free baby and have been feeding him small silkworms. I got them from mulberryfarms.com It's expensive at first, but you can breed them and wind up with a ton...just look at wideglide's post above...he's got 1500 eggs hatching right now!
