I am trying to get my handle my iguana but he's going crazy. I cant get a hold of him. I havent handled him for about a month but he has never been crazy. Please give me some advice as to what I can do to settle him down. I really need to get him out of his cage so I can clean it.

Hey, how are you??
Don´t have much to say, just keep on trying!!! It takes a while for him to get used to you. How old is he?? Move slowly and talk to him with a gentle voice, and keep on trying!
Good luck,
Dan

You haven't handled him for a month? Igs can take a long time to tame. Some even a year. If you want a tame ig you should try to spend more time with him/her. First try talking to it and work your way up to holding it. Spend time with it daily even if its just a few minutes that will help and he/she won't act so crazy.

To go along with the "you haven't handled your ig for a month?"... You haven't cleaned him out for a month?!? My guy poops every day and has to be cleaned out! He's getting trained to use a water/litter box, but I'm still in there every day. I may not pick him up and take him out, but I always scratch his chin and give him a back rub, and touch his feet!

My only suggestion is to carefully clean him out as best you can, and work on re-establishing your relationship with your ig. If he's small, there's no real safe way of catching him, if he's larger a damp teatowel works for me, but all you do is damage your relationship with your ig further. Even if all you do is scritch his chin and touch his feet every day, and take him out for full handling a couple of times a week, it will keep him tamed up.
