new baby problem...

Schwan Jun 01, 2003 11:55 AM

hi. had a baby leo hatch a couple of days ago. i left her in the incubator until today. moved her into her own cage.

problem is: the first day she hatched she rubbed off her yoke sac thing. is this a huge problem? i have been trying to feed her tiny mealworms but she doesn't seem interested.

another issue: she is tiny. 2 inches, maybe. but she seems lively enough...

in everybody elses experience, is she going to make it?

thanks in advance,

amanda

I have never seen a baby have an external yolk sac. It may have been a piece of placenta or something. The yolk sac is on the inside of them. They usually don't eat right away could take up to a week. Tiny crickets usually start them best because of the movement. It should be fine as long as it made it this long. Good luck.

Livliness is the best sign if she runs around and hisses at you that is good try some crickets has she shed yet? they won't eat usually until after they shed.
