Well as some of you have read from the post below Lisa from BeginnerBasics dad is ill and in the hospital. She will be traveling up to see him on wednesday. She will be driving from Fl. to Va. a 14 hour drive on the day before Thanksgiving, as she can't afford a plane ticket right now. I thought it would be nice if everyone with some money to spare could contribute money to her so she could fly up. It would be very nice and make a very tough situation easier for her. I will personally start the contributions with a $20 donation. If even half the regualars donated half of that, Lisa would be able to fly to Va. Being able to fly would also make the return trip easier for her as she plans on returning with her father. Which would be tough because she would have to bring the vehicle she drove up and his truck back. It is the holiday season and we should all find it in our hearts to help others in our community in need.

If you would like to contribute you can send money Directly to Lisa via paypal. Her paypal account is beginnersbasics @ aol.com
obviously remove the spaces around the @ symbol that is in there so it doesn't get deleted.

I am posting this without Lisa herself knowing. I talked to her this morning about her situation and felt really bad for her. To have to spend the upcoming holiday driving and worrying about a sick father is a very poor way to spend thanksgiving.

Thank You for your generosity
Derek

I really don't know what to say about this.....

I guess the only thing I can say is THANK YOU for caring.

Thanksgiving is also my 7th anniversary and lucky for me I have a husband who is understanding and caring. He has already scheduled time off work for me to go north to VA and he can stay home and care for my children and dragons. I guess he will be getting a major crash course in beardie care while I am away! His boss has also told him that if he needs more time then all he has to do is call in.

I didn't know you had posted this thread.... I checked my mail and saw two paypal payments titled "plane ticket" and was confused. Then I came here and saw this.......

Derek, you will never know what your contribution and kindness means to me right now. I only hope that I can repay you somehow in the future.

Thank You for making me realize that even "strangers" can care about others in need.

I would appreciate it if I were in Lisa's posistion. Lisa is an active member of the forum, and is going through a really tough time. I know how hard it is to have a parent ill with a tumor, it is the most uncertain time you could ever imagine. Nothing compares trust me. I couldn't imagine not being able to be there. And driving 14 hours is rough especially alone the day before thanksgiving and the day before your anniversary, and missing being with your kids for thanksgiving and your husband on your annivesary.. I just thought with the awesome forum we have here that plenty of people would contribute to help lisa out (Don't dissapoint me). Flying would be so much easier, and a lot of us I feel could give some money from our pockets to help one of our own. I just felt that someone needed to get the ball rolling to get the idea out there. And Lisa's reply brought tears to my eye earlier. We all need a little help at somepoint. It brings me joy to help out someone else in their time of need, as it is nice to be helped out when you need it.

I didn't know if that would be okay to post but you set the pace so here it goes...

I'll give this guy up too. I'll give 100% of his sale price to Lisa's Plane ticket fund. We need to help a fellow dragon person out.

Since She needs the $$ quick,, Highest offer with payment by 10 pm. tonight gets him. I'm starting him at $50.
(please keep in mind, this is for Lisa to get to her father,I'm not keeping any of it. Let's get some money to her)

He would have to be sent tomorrow Tues. for a Wed delivery though. Or sent on or after Dec. 01.
