Does anybody know where I can find flying dragons (Draco volans) or other subspecies?
Thanks in advance,

I just saw an ad in the classifieds. For some reason they're really cheap! I wonder if they're hard to acclimate...

Peter: It's OK, I'll handle it. I read a book about something like this.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?
They are cheap, but its extremely difficult to establish them. 99% die wihtin the first half year.
Hydration is one keyword, stress another for this genus.
I only know of onbe successful breeder but I know of many herpers who were not able to keep them alive. For absolute experts only!

Wow, I figured... kind of the Moellendorff's ratsnake of the lizard world. Bummer.

Thanks for the info. I'm not really looking to get into something that is to difficult to maintain. If I do decide to get a pair I'll be sure to do plenty of research. I havent delt with lots of lizards mainly just basilisks, iguanas, leos, and monitors and I wanted to try something new. They sound like something that I would want to wait on based on what you guys have said. Just incase do any of you have any good references for people that I should talk to or get care sheets from? I would like to learn from some experts anyways even if I dont aquire any in the near future. It's always good to have the knowledge so I dont get in over my head or do not properly care for the animal do to neglegence.
Thanks again, Jeremy McManmon
The one thing you'll definately need is the partnership of a ver competent vet. They'd at least need a thourough checkup and deparatization. Other than that, I could make wild guesses at husbandry based on my experience with other animals from that area, but I don't know of anyone with experience maintaining these animals long term. I'm sure it's not impossible, but would take a LOT of dedication and a few broken eggs to make the omlette.
I have a stuffed version, though... sigh...

Reptile City sometimes sells them for around $20.00, wild-caught.
