steelcube Nov 24, 2003 01:33 PM

Hi everyone,

I am interested to try these new dart frog food from flyculture. Wondering if anyone have any feedback regarding Micro Mealworm and Drosophila buzzatti. Also interested if anybody ever try these to feed the tumbnails. Thanks.

regards,

I tried them and the Tinc I have would eat it. He gagged the first time till he got the hang of it. My Thumbnails ignored them. People told me there was too much fat and Chitin. When I spoke to Flyculture.com they explained to me that micros are actually the same genus as flour moth beetle but look like a regular meal worm so don't have too much Chitin. Flycultue uses the micros regularly for their frogs. One plus he said the meal worms have over the flour moth larve is that they are hardier to the humidity and so when you place them into the dart tank they don't go into shock like the flour moth larve do so quickly so your frogs will have more of a chance to see and respond to them.
